Day 1: Arrive Cochin
Greeted on arrival at the Cochin International Airport. Transfer to
hotel. City tour at afternoon - a historic city, ancient capital of the
Dutch, Portuguese and finally the British. A walking tour to Fort Cochin
would be ideal but if you are not up to it hop on to an auto rickshaw.
The visit includes old Spice Market at Mattancherry, the antique shop on
Jews Street, the Synagogue, Dutch Palace and, the Church of St. Francis
where the mortal remains of Vasco Da Gama was buried before it was
shifted to Portugal. Return to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2: Cochin / Periyar
Drive to Periyar after breakfast, transfer to Spice Village at Periyar,
which lies in the shade of Cardamom Hills and is a beautiful area of
tranquil winding roads, tea gardens, rubber estates and spice
plantations. One can visit the resident "VAIDYA" (Ayurveda
Doctor) for consultation after lunch. You can also do it the following
day. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.
Day 3: 7 days in Periyar
7 days have been set-aside for the Ayurveda Therapy at Periyar
(starting from Day 4). The resident Doctor after consultation plans and
suggest about diet. The therapy commences in right earnest. Remember
that during this period you should not exert your self and for best
result no alcohol, no tobacco and strict vegetarian diet. The therapy
involves various herbal massages, steam baths and yoga. If you follow
all the directions of the "VAIDYA", we can assure you that you
will come out totally relaxed and a great feeling of wellness. Remember
to bring some of your favourite books to catch up on all the reading you
may have missed. Overnight stay at Resort.
Day 4:
At Periyar Ayurveda Therepy - Overnight stay at Resort
Day 5:
At Periyar Ayurveda Therepy - Overnight stay at Resort
Day 6:

At Periyar Ayurveda Therepy - Overnight stay at Resort

Day 10: Periyar
The rejuvenation therapy is over, but it is best to relax and allow
your body to re-adjust after one week of massage. After breakfast if you
feel up to it take a walking tour of Spice Village accompanied by Hotel
Staff - introduction to spices. Mid-afternoon hands on lessons on
cooking with spices. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay at resort.
Day 11: Periyar/Cochin
You may to venture out to the National Park or you can enjoy a boat
safari in Periyar lake and see wild elephants. Visit tea and spice
plantations or do a soft trek with escort in the jungle after breakfast.
After lunch drive to Cochin. Check-in at CASINO Hotel. Evening enjoy a
Kathakali dance programme at the local cultural center. Return to hotel
for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12: Return to Destination
After breakfast at leisure. Later transfer to airport/ railway station
and assist you with all check-in formalities for your onward destination
journey.
